Breast of Friends Blocks 1 & 2

Here are blocks 1 & 2. I still have a few embroidery bits to add to all my blocks and the borders. I am waiting till it all starts to come together before I do them. I have included the fabrics that were my starting point. The tulip one will be the majority of the border.

The faces do look a bit ghostlike, but they will improve with some eyes and lips.

Here are the doves:

This is a bowl I made after attending a Sewing Club day at my local Patchwork shop. I was so keen, it was finsihed before dinner that night!.
Hi everyone

This is my first posting. I am working on the Breast of Friends Mystery Quilt, published by an Australian magazine - Homespun - so far I have done bits or all of blocks 1 thru to 9. I have been quilting on and off since the early 1980's. Before that I tried all sorts of crafts - dressmaking, crochet, wood work, weaving, cake decorating, bobbin lace to mention a few. these days its mainly patchwork - including a lot of projects with hand stitcheries, althougb ocassionally I break out the knitting needles or take up the cross stitch - got a couple of UFO's in that department as well as more than a few in patchwork. Oh well I am sure I will live in perfect health for at least another 50 years so they will all get done!! (he he)

Ok now I better work out how to add some pictures to my blog.

Cheers everyone

Susan
